Tokens are not on sale yet. They are part of the courtme dating product, which has not launched. Nothing on courtme currently charges you a token, and no token can be bought today. These terms are published in advance so you can read them before that changes. courtme IRL events do not use tokens at all - they are free for guests.
These Token Terms govern courtme's in-app credit ("tokens"). They add to our Terms of Service and Refund Policy; where a conflict exists about tokens specifically, these terms control.
A token is a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use a paid feature inside courtme - primarily committing to a date with someone you have matched with. It is a feature key, not money.
A token is not: currency or legal tender; a deposit or stored-value account; a security, investment, or financial instrument; cryptocurrency, an NFT, or a stablecoin; transferable, sellable, or giftable between accounts; redeemable for anything outside courtme.
Tokens have no value outside the app and confer no ownership in CourtMe, Inc.
When you commit to a date, a token is placed on hold - set aside but not yet consumed. It is committed (spent) when the date happens, or in the situations in 3.3.
Your held token returns to your balance automatically when the date does not happen and it is not your doing:
Exception: if both people cancel, or neither person shows up, neither is charged, even where a case above would otherwise apply.
We may grant tokens as a welcome bonus, referral reward, or goodwill credit. Promotional tokens have no cash value, are never cash-refundable, expire on the terms stated when granted, and are spent before tokens you paid for.
Cash refunds are governed by the Refund Policy. In summary: unused tokens can be refunded within 14 days of purchase; billing errors are always corrected; tokens already spent on a date that happened are not refundable; promotional tokens are never cash-refundable. Statutory refund rights that cannot be waived, including the EU and UK 14-day right of withdrawal, apply regardless of anything here.
We may freeze, remove, or decline to honour tokens if they were obtained by fraud (including chargeback fraud, a stolen payment method, or promotion abuse), if you try to sell, trade, or transfer them, or if you use a paid feature to harass, scam, or otherwise breach our Terms. Where we act, we will tell you what we did and you can appeal (see the Moderation Policy).
We may change pack sizes, prices, or how tokens work, with notice. Changes apply to future purchases. Tokens already in your balance keep the terms they were bought under unless that is legally impossible, in which case we will offer a refund of the affected tokens.
