Effective Date: 2026-09-28 Last Updated: 2026-09-28 (v1.13)
This policy explains when you can get your money back from CourtMe, Inc. ("courtme"). It covers:
Attendees pay nothing. Joining an event, building a profile, matching, and chatting are free for guests, so there is nothing for a guest to be refunded.
Where you bought something through the Apple App Store or Google Play, that store processes the refund and its policies apply alongside this one (Section 6). Subscription plans are bought directly from us on the web and app-store policies do not apply to them.
Subscriptions renew automatically every month, or every year on annual plans, at the price shown until you cancel. Cancel any time online from Billing in the app; you keep your plan - with its guest cap and event-day allowance - through the end of the period you have paid for, with no partial-period refund. An event under your plan that starts after that date is held, and does not open, unless you have an active plan that covers it (Section 3.1). Your first payment on a self-serve plan is refunded in full if you ask within 7 days after your first event (or within 7 days after you subscribe, if no event runs under the plan), once per host or company (Section 3.2). If our service fails during an event, you get back one month of your plan as paid (on an annual plan, one-twelfth of the year's payment). Upgrading is prorated onto your next invoice; downgrading takes effect at your next renewal.
Our self-serve plans are Community (up to 50 guests), Starter (up to 100), Growth (up to 300), and Pro (up to 1,000), with 2, 5, 10, and 15 event days included each calendar month respectively, billed monthly or, at 10 months' price, annually. Needs above Pro, more event days than your plan includes, more than one venue or organization on one account, or courtme-staffed events are Enterprise, sold by written agreement (see pricing) and occasionally billed as a one-time invoice rather than a subscription. Refunds are always calculated on the amount you actually paid, after any promo code or referral credit.
Event days. An event day is each started 24 hours of an event, up to 7 per event, so a 3-day festival uses 3 of your plan's included event days that month. Included event days reset each calendar month, do not roll over, and are not purchased or refunded individually - they are part of the subscription, not a separate charge.
Cancel any time online from Billing in the app. Cancelling stops future renewal; you keep your plan, guest cap, and event-day allowance through the end of the period you have paid for, and we do not refund the unused part of a billing period, monthly or annual.
Events after your plan ends. Cancelling does not hold events that start before the end of the period you have paid for. An event under your plan (one you created on a subscription plan) that starts after that date opens for matching only if, when it starts, you have an active plan whose guest cap covers it. Until then it is held: it stays in your account and guests who already joined stay joined, but matching does not open. Activate a plan that covers it and it opens right away, as long as the event has not ended. An event that has already opened keeps running even if your plan later lapses.
If courtme is not right for you, email billing@courtme.ai and we refund your first subscription payment in full and cancel the plan. You do not need to give a reason. When to ask: within 7 days after your first event under the plan ends, or, if no event runs under the plan, within 7 days after you subscribed. This applies once per host or company, for life, to self-serve plans (Community, Starter, Growth and Pro, monthly or annual). Enterprise refunds are in Section 3.6. The refund is the amount you actually paid.
An annual plan is a single payment covering 12 months at 10 months' price. Cancelling an annual plan stops it from renewing at the annual anniversary; your plan stays active through the end of the paid year, and the months already covered are not refunded. We do not prorate a mid-year refund for switching from annual to monthly - let the year run out, then choose monthly at renewal, or email billing@courtme.ai.
Raising your guest cap or event-day allowance takes effect immediately and Stripe prorates the difference onto your next invoice - you are not charged the new plan's full price on top of what you already paid this period. Lowering your plan takes effect at your next billing period; you keep your current cap and allowance for the rest of the period you have already paid for, and there is no refund for choosing a smaller plan mid-period.
If, during your event's scheduled hours, guests cannot join or matching does not work for more than 30 consecutive minutes because of a fault in our service, you are entitled to a refund of one month of your plan: on a monthly plan, the payment for that month; on an annual plan, one-twelfth of your annual payment; under an Enterprise agreement, the amount you paid for the affected event. The refund is never more than you actually paid for that month or event, and each month or event is refunded at most once, however many failures it had. Claim within 7 days of the event (Section 7).
This does not cover interruptions caused by things outside our service, including venue internet or power, guests' own devices or mobile coverage, or a third-party outage we do not control. If we cannot agree on the cause, we will show you what our systems recorded.
This section applies to payments made on or after September 25, 2026. A payment made before then keeps the version of this section in force when you made it, for the period that payment covers (Section 11).
Refund terms for Enterprise plans are set in your written agreement and that agreement controls. If it is silent: 50% of the price is invoiced when you sign and is non-refundable. The other 50% is due 30 days before the event and is refundable: if you cancel the event, we refund it, or do not charge it if it is not yet due. If you sign 30 days or less before the event, both halves are invoiced when you sign, on the same terms. The Section 3.5 service-failure refund still applies in full.
We refund what you actually paid, not the list price. The launch promo (code SAVE30: 30% off the first month of a monthly self-serve plan, for the next 10 hosts, through October 31, 2026) applies only to that first month's invoice, does not apply to an annual plan, and does not reopen if you cancel and resubscribe after it ends. A referral credit is not money: it is applied automatically to a host's invoice and cannot be paid out in cash - see the Host Program Terms for how credits are earned and expire. If a credit was applied to a payment we later refund under this policy, the cash portion is refunded and the credit is not automatically re-issued - email billing@courtme.ai and we will look at it.
To your original payment method through Stripe, normally within 5–10 business days of approval. We cannot refund to a different card or a different person.
Tokens are not currently sold. When they are offered, the Token Terms govern how they are held, returned, and consumed, and this policy governs cash refunds:
This section is about subscriptions for attendees and daters, if we offer them; host subscription plans are covered in Section 3. If we offer a consumer subscription, it renews until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the current billing period. Within 14 days of your first payment, and if you have not made significant use of the paid features, you can ask us for a refund. After that, and for renewals, payments are not refundable except where the law says otherwise or we choose to make an exception.
Apple and Google process refunds for purchases made inside their stores. We cannot refund those charges directly. Request them at:
Tell us as well at billing@courtme.ai if a store refund relates to a problem on our side, so we can fix it.
Email billing@courtme.ai from the address on your account and include:
If we decline, we will tell you which part of this policy we relied on.
Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank - it is faster, and most disputes are a misunderstanding we can fix. If a chargeback is opened, we may suspend the account while it is resolved and will provide the transaction record to your card issuer. Repeated bad-faith chargebacks may result in a permanent ban.
Deleting your account does not by itself refund unused tokens, an unused portion of your plan's event-day allowance, or unused paid time, except where Sections 3, 4, or 5 or the law say otherwise. Cancel your subscription before you delete your account (Section 3.1) so it stops renewing; the unused part of the current billing period is not refunded.
Nothing in this policy takes away a refund right you have under the law that cannot be waived, including the 14-day right of withdrawal for consumers in the EU and UK and consumer protections in US state law. Where the law gives you more than this policy does, the law wins.
We may update this policy. The terms that apply to a purchase are the ones published when you made it. If we make a material change, we will post it here with a new effective date.
