courtme.ai Age Policy

1. Age requirement

courtme is strictly 18+. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use any courtme service.

Where local law requires a higher age of majority (e.g., 19 in some US states, 21 for certain activities), you must meet that age.

2. Verification

We verify age through multiple layers:

• Age gate on signup: you confirm date of birth
• Identity verification: via Stripe Identity (government ID + selfie match). Verification is enforced server-side: our system checks the verified date of birth and automatically rejects anyone under 18 before a profile can be used (before any matching or chat). This is a hard gate, not just a self-attested checkbox. The selfie/ID face-match uses biometric data and is governed by our Biometric Data Notice.
• App-store age signal: where an app store provides an age-category signal (e.g., under the Texas App Store Accountability Act), we use it as an additional check.
• Behavioral signals: we monitor for indicators of underage use and may suspend accounts pending verification.

Providing a false date of birth is grounds for permanent ban and may be a criminal offense (e.g., identity fraud).

3. If we suspect a minor

• If the age gate or identity verification indicates a user is under 18, we block account creation and purge the sign-up data (including email and phone number) from our systems, keeping only the minimal non-identifying information needed to prevent immediate re-registration. No profile, matches, or messages are created for a under-18 user.
• For an already-created account we later suspect belongs to a minor, we immediately suspend it
• We may request additional ID verification
• We delete the account and any associated data
• For content depicting a minor in a sexual context, we report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) via the CyberTipline as required by US law (18 USC §2258A) and cooperate with law enforcement

4. If you're under 18

Do not use courtme. We are not designed for you and using courtme would violate our Terms of Service. You can wait until you are 18; we'll still be here.

If you are a minor and have created an account, please email safety@courtme.ai with your name and email associated with the account. We will delete the account and data, no questions asked.

5. If you're a parent or guardian

If you discover a minor in your care is using courtme:

• Email safety@courtme.ai with the username or email of the account
• We will delete the account within 7 days of verification
• For urgent safety concerns involving the minor, please also contact local law enforcement

6. COPPA compliance

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or other applicable age under COPPA). Because our service is 18+ in all cases, COPPA's primary applications should not arise, but we apply COPPA's protections by removing any data we discover was collected from a minor.

7. Reporting suspected minors on courtme

If you suspect another user is under 18, report them via the in-app Report button or email safety@courtme.ai. We will investigate within 24 hours.
